Choral Evensong will be celebrated in St Cuthbert’s Chapel, Ushaw at 4pm this Sunday 14th July by the Dean of Durham Cathedral, the Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett.

The service which will be in the Anglican tradition take place in the stunning setting of St Cuthbert’s Chapel. Music will be performed by the Durham Cathedral Consort with Francesca Massey conducting.

One of the Tenors in the Cathedral Consort is Alex Chisholm-Loxley who will by then have complete his piano recital at Ushaw on Saturday 13th. Alex is also the Musical Director of the Ushaw Chapel Choir and Crook and Weardale Choral Society.

This will be a particularly poignant service as it was of the final events organised by Ushaw’s late Director of Development, Roger Kelly who was so keen to see music of high quality performed in St Cuthbert’s. The retiring collection will go to the Roger Kelly Music Foundation set up in Roger’s memory.

Everyone is welcome to attend - those of any faith and those of none - Ushaw requests that the congregation takes their seats by 3.45pm
