Jamie is currently a scholarship holder at the Royal Academy of Music in the first year of the Vocal Performance Masters course. A Music graduate from the University of York, Jamie sang in many groups with the university as a section leader and frequent soloist. Jamie also sang with the Yorkshire Bach Choir appearing as a soloist alongside singers such as soprano Dame Emma Kirkby and tenor James Gilchrist. Recently as part of the Britten Centenary, Jamie was involved in the Capriol film’s production of Benjamin Britten, Peace & Conflict. In his final year, Jamie sang as a bass choral scholar at York Minster. Now in London, Jamie regularly sings at a number of cathedrals and churches. Recently he has been accepted into the Genesis Sixteen choir, run by The Sixteen’s director and assistant-director, Harry Christophers and Eamonn Doughann. Undertaking more solo repertoire at the Academy, Jamie is a keen singer of Bach’s oratorio and cantatas while also building on his operatic repertoire. This coming summer, Jamie is undertaking tours with a number of different groups around Europe also including an opera training week in Italy. After his MA at the Academy Jamie hopes to continue his studies abroad.
